Our very first bike was made for one of the greatest triathletes in history—Paula Newby-Fraser—who rode her stealth black Felt B2 to multiple world championship victories. Since then, we’ve never stopped pursuing the ideal triathlon racing machine. The first IA revolutionized the triathlon world when it debuted. Despite advancements via our IA 2.0 platform, the standard IA remains a reference point for speed and performance.
The IA remains one of the most aerodynamic bikes in the world. Its precise handling, stable performance in windy conditions, and its low-drag profile still lays claim to winning the Kona World Championship a staggering six times in a row. It still holds both bike and overall course records across the lava fields of Hawaii to this day. If speed is your thing, you are sure to enjoy the IA.
AERODYNAMICS
The IA is optimized for aero. After endless CFD modeling, wind tunnel testing, and real-world prototype validation, the IA is fast. From straight-line speed to the ability to cut through cross-winds while riding in the aero position, the IA empowers its rider to deliver the goods on race day.
DISC BRAKES & THRU-AXLES
Disc brakes offer the best control no matter the weather. The disc brake-equipped IA gives you the confidence to tackle any racecourse on any day. To accommodate the added stopping forces provided by disc brakes, the IA features thru-axles rather than traditional quick-release skewers which enhances frame-to-wheel stiffness and performance.
